HOW CAN THE TEACHINGS AND TOOLS OF POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY SUPPORT YOU DURING TIMES OF UNCERTAINTY AND ADVERSITY?

Together, we all continue to live throughout extremely unpredictable times that began several long years ago. For many, our basic sense of normalcy and security has been taken from us. The ongoing pandemic has now coupled with the uncertainty of war in Europe that worries and frightens.

What does positive psychology offer us to cope with such feelings?

In this free webinar for you, we share researched information on how positive psychology can act as a support and aid when you’re confronted by adversity. We organized this webinar on April 28th, 2022. Here is a link to the replay for you.

Adversity and suffering are a natural part of human life. And as with almost anything, there are aspects of adversity that we can control, and there are those that we cannot.

What tools can positive psychology provide when life is shaken to the core? Contrary to what some might imagine, positive psychology is by no means sheer sunshine and daisies. The scientific field takes into account the importance of all types of emotions, including sadness, pain and anxiety.

METHODS TO INCREASE RESILIENCE

One of the keywords for our webinar is resilience, which refers to a person’s ability to cope with challenging and unexpected situations. All people have different levels of resilience for reasons such as previous life experience, self-awareness and upbringing, but fortunately resilience can be developed!

To reinforce resilience, positive psychology encourages the identification and development of personal traits and self-beliefs, such as character strengths, self-compassion and meaningful experiences.

During the webinar, you’ll hear practical methods that anyone can apply in their own daily lives. We’ll bring out different perspectives to help you find what might work for you, because there are no ready-made templates for everyone.

Being together, belonging and sharing feelings is especially relevant during difficult times.

Personally, I’ve benefited from positive psychology most of all for the adversities of my life. In particular, I have learned to give more space to difficult emotions and accept them. They are also part of our lives.
